About the Tests
- The ACT is a national college admission and placement examination. All grade 11 students in Michigan must take the ACT. Participation rate for all schools and districts is at or near 100%.
- ACT scores range from a low of 1 to a high of 36 for all subjects except writing, which ranges from 2 to 12. The Composite score is an average of the English, math, reading and science scores.
- Scores for the graduating class of 2008 represent tests taken by grade 11 students in spring 2007. If there are fewer than 10 students at a particular school, the Michigan Department of Education does not report data for that school.
