Source: IN Dept. of Education, 2008-2009 About the Tests In 2008-2009 Indiana used the Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress-Plus (ISTEP+) assessment to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 in English/language arts and math, and in grades 5 and 7 in science. The ISTEP+ is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Indiana. High school students are required to pass the grade 10 ISTEP+ to receive a high school diploma. The goal is for all students to score at the passing level on the test. About the Tests

In 2008-2009 Indiana used the Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress-Plus (ISTEP+) assessment to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 in English/language arts and math, and in grades 5 and 7 in science.
The ISTEP+ is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Indiana.
The different student groups are identified by the Indiana Department of Education. If there are fewer than 10 students in a particular group in a school, data is not reported for that group.
High school students are required to pass the grade 10 ISTEP+ to receive a high school diploma.
The goal is for all students to score at the passing level on the test.
