The CRCT is a standards-based assessment, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Georgia. About the Tests

In 2007-2008 Georgia administered the Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests (CRCT) in reading, English language arts and math in grades 1 through 8, in science in grades 3 through 8, and in social studies in grades 3 through 5 and 8.
The CRCT is a standards-based assessment, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Georgia.
The different student groups are identified by the Georgia Department of Education. If there are fewer than 10 students in a particular group in a school, the state doesn't report data for that group.
The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.
