In the School District of Palm Beach County (PBCSD), you can attend your neighborhood school or one of the many Choice Schools with different themes—art, technology, dual language, Montessori -- that students can apply to. Most accept students through a lottery. The deadline for Choice Schools is in mid-December. Students with special needs may be eligible to receive a McKay Scholarship to attend a private school. There are also charter and magnet school programs available.Under the federal No Child Left Behind law, students attending a Title I school designated as “in need of improvement” have the right to attend a higher-performing school in the district
