| Teacher experience |
|
This shows the percentage of teachers with five or more years of teaching experience as reported by the state. Although experience alone is not an indicator of teacher effectiveness, schools or districts with a high percentage of inexperienced teachers may face difficulties. This is because teachers with limited experience may be less skilled at managing the challenges of classroom instruction. Conversely, if there are a high percentage of experienced teachers this may point toward a lack of fresh ideas and innovative teaching methods. In general, the most effective schools have a combination of experienced and new teachers, and create opportunities for all teachers to learn from each other.
