About the Tests

In 2007-2008 Wisconsin used the Wisconsin Knowledge and Concepts Examination - Criterion-Referenced Tests (WKCE-CRT) to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 in math and reading, and in grades 4, 8 and 10 in language arts, science and social studies.
The WKCE-CRT is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Wisconsin.
The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.

The ACT is a national college admission and placement examination.
ACT scores range from a low of 1 to a high of 36. The Composite score is an average of the English, math, reading and science scores.
Scores represent results for students in grade 12 who took the ACT as juniors or seniors.
Because of changes in state enrollment collections in 2004-2005, participation rates for the graduating class of 2005 should be interpreted with caution.
