School Mission
- Our mission as the Riverdale School Community is to develop educated citizens of strong moral character who demonstrate positive attitudes, appropriate social and emotional behaviors, and respect for diversity. Through a program of varied learning experiences, we challenge each student to reach maximum potential, providing future generations of productive members for our increasingly complex society. Finally, we hope to instill within our students a life long love for learning.

Instructional Program Highlights
- Individualized emphasis for those needed reinforcement as well as those needing enrichment.
- Emphasis on technology. 500+ computers, laptops, whiteboards, mobile labs, etc enhance the drive for technology related learning activities.
- Emphasis on hands-on project based instruction.
- Lots of after school activities, including sports, foreign language clubs, music and art activities, instructional activities, drama, tutoring and summer camps.

- Girls sports: basketball, cheerleading and volleyball.

- Clubs and extra-curricular activities include: Middle School Basketball/Cheerleading; Student Council, Beta Club, Builders' Club; Computer Club, Chess Team; Drama Club, Hands-on Science; Riverdale Radio (FM 99.1) and Riverdale Ropers, Junior Jumpers, Club Jump-all jump rope teams.

Parent and Community Support
- We have so many volunteers for our many and varied school activities. Parents tutor, work in the clinic, computer lab, classrooms, etc. This past year, our parent run school auction raised $30,000 for the school. We love our active parents!!

| Technology and Facilities |
- 2 students per computer.

- Recent or upcoming renovations: Our students, parents and teachers work on landscape additions and modifications year round. Our Environmental Club is very active and have given us a beautiful campus. We also have portables added to our campus from time to time.
- Gymnasium and physical education facilities: Our gym was built in 1975 and is a large gym with bleachers on both sides. We were able to add a nice size stage about 10 years ago and we also have a wonderful sound system for stage productions.
- Library facilities: The library has 20,000 books for our 1070 K-8 students. Last year our students passed tests on 73,000+ books in the Accelerated Reader program. Our parent volunteers run a great program that delivers incentive items to our students every quarter. We feel that all the reading our students do, pushes them forward on our State Achievement Test (TCAP).
