Acceptable Use Policy (AUP): A policy designed to establish agreement on responsible use of the school’s computer systems. Acceptable Use Policies usually include statements about the required procedures, rights and responsibilities of a technology user. Most schools have AUPs with regard to students going on the Internet. Students and their parent/guardian must sign the AUP before students are allowed to go online and use the computer systems.
