Dress code |
Dress code: Students must dress appropriately when attending school. Shorts should be no shorter than mid-thigh, and shirts revealing midriffs are not permitted. In addition clothing bearing inappropriate language or suggesting any unacceptable behavior, practice, affiliation or products is not permitted. Wearing make-up is not appropriate for elementary school students. School administrators have the right, by law, to send home a student who is not dressed or groomed appropriately. |

School Mission
- The vision of Anderson Valley Elementary staff and parents is to foster the development of educated students who will be respectful, responsible, healthy, and thoughtful citizens. This will be accomplished by improving the academic performance, social skills and resilience of all of our students through explicit instruction and project-based application of their learning that includes artistic, musical, technological. leadership, and critical thinking opportunities.

Parent and Community Support
- Parents participate in class, in our PTAV (Parents and Teachers of Anderson Valley), in our School Site Council, and on the District English Language Advisory Council. In addition our parents attend our semi-annual parent/teacher/student conferences. We have parents and community members read in the Breakfast Club -a before-school story time, as well as helping us with our garden, vermiculture and after school art activities. Some parents meet their children on Tuesday afternoons (our early release day) to read in the library and watch their children take the Accelerated Reader quizzes on the computer to see how well the students understood the story.
