  • Metro HS engage diverse student bodies in rigorous academic work resulting in graduation and college admission. Metro HS believes that all students, regardless of their race, ethnicity or economic background, are entitled to attend high schools that prepare them for college success and democratic citizenship in the 21st Century.

Instructional Program Highlights
  • Metro HS is a small, academically rigorous high school that uses project-based learning, art and technology to engage students in learning. Studies show that all else being equal, students in small high schools score higher on examinations, pass more courses, and go on to college more frequently than those in large ones.
  • Students complete and present a digital portfolio of college-ready work for graduation.
  • All graduates are UC-CSU eligible. Students complete at least 3 years of digital, visual, and performing arts.
  • Small class size all four years. Every student has a teacher advisor who serves as main point of contact between home and school.

  • Metro is one of the best kept secrets in San Francisco. The school is small, safe, academically rigorous, and possesses an dynamic, dedicated faculty. We had the highest growth rate in the API of any public school in SF last year (2006-07). Our graduates have been accepted to top ranked private and public four year universities.
