School Mission
  • It is our mission to provide the highest quality education for all students in order to allow them to develop to their maximum potential. We are committed to equal educational opportunities through equal access. Working together with parents and community, we strive to develop all social and academic areas so that the student may become a useful and responsible member of society. We can achieve our goals through our computer technology and business partnerships.

Curriculum
  • Immersion programs in English.
  • Special education programs designed specifically for students with autism, hearing impairments, language or speech impairment, specific learning disabilities, orthopedic impairments and multiple disabilities.
  • This school has a particular instructional focus on accelerated learning, honors, college preparation.
 
 
Instructional Program Highlights
  • AVID and Honors Classes are offered for all students.
  • Zero hour and 9th hour classes are offered for remedial classwork, advanced classwork and additional electives.
  • All students in grades 4-8 are required to take a double period of math. 4th and 5th graders are required to take a double reading period.
  • We have a full sports program and a violin program offered to our students.

Activities and Sports
  • Clubs and extra-curricular activities include: Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Track and Field, Cross Country, Softball, Cheerleading; National Jr. Honor Society; Algebra Club; Student Council; Chess Club and EXCEL program and after-school tutoring.

Parent and Community Support
  • Our district has a coalition made up of community members and business members as well as staff. We have a PTO that meets monthly. Parents are encouraged to volunteer at the school. Wilson also offers a variety of classes for parents. College students are used as tutors for our students.

  • Every classroom at Wilson has a one to one student to computer ratio. Curriculum and technology are woven into our curriculum maps which are tied to the Arizona State Standards.
