In the San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) you have the choice to attend one of the following schools: your neighborhood school; another school in the district through the Open Enrollment School Choice Program or through the Voluntary Enrollment Exchange Program (VEEP), which pairs schools across the district to promote diversity; a magnet school; a charter school; or a school outside the district (called interdistrict choice).Under the federal No Child Left Behind law, students attending a Title I school designated as "in need of improvement" have the right to attend a higher-performing school in the district.
