Know your school choice options in California.
In the Fresno Unified School District (FUSD), you have the choice to attend your neighborhood school, another school in the district (called intradistrict choice) or a school in another district (called interdistrict choice). Interdistrict and intradistrict choice are on a space-available basis and are usually granted for specific reasons, such as child care or medical restrictions. You also have the option to attend a magnet or charter school. Most of these are on a space-available basis but a few have specific requirements for admission.Under the federal No Child Left Behind law, students attending a Title I school designated as "in need of improvement" have the right to attend a higher-performing school in the district.
